Cervical smears are strongly recommended every three years for 25-50 year old women and every five years for women aged 50 -65. A computerised recall system is in operation from the BSO, when called, you should make an appointment with one of the practice nurses. The Health Authority will notify you if further investigation is required. The practice will notify you if your result is normal or inadequate.
It is very important for us to make contact with you promptly in the event of needing further investigation so please ensure that we have an up to date address and telephone number recorded for you.
If you do not wish to have a Smear Test please complete our Smear Test Refusal form (Word document) and return it in to the surgery.
Contraceptive Services are provided, including emergency contraception, giving advice about emergency contraception and where appropriate the supply or prescribing of emergency contraception.
For hormone implant and coil fitting/removal you must book a telephone consultation with the appropriate GP. They will discuss the options available to you and book a follow up appointment if required.
